About

Stephani Lewis studied Theatrical Costume Design at the University of New Mexico, graduating with a degree in Design for Performance. While in school she interned as a PA on local film and television productions being shot in the Land of Enchantment.

Following graduation, she worked as a Set Costumer, Seamstress and later as an Assistant Costume Designer. Stephani moved to New York and worked as ACD on projects that include Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s baseball-themed movie Sugar; Derek Cianfrance’s acclaimed dramas Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines; Sophie Barthes’ Cold Souls.

In 2010, she began work as the Costume Designer on a small independent film shot in Louisiana that would soon take the film world by storm upon its premiere at Sundance Film Festival in 2012. Beast of the Southern Wild would go on to receive, among many other accolades, four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Director (Benh Zeitlin). Stephani received a Costume Designers Guild Award nomination for Excellence in Contemporary Film.

Stephani’s credits range from multi-season contemporary television shows such as the Netflix award winning drama Ozark, to small fantastical independents like The Daniel’s Swiss Army Man, to her latest project Moonshot, a romantic comedy set in space.
